ABOUT MY BOOKPACK SERVICE
What are the main steps to book a trip with My Bookpack?
The first contact should be made through the questionnaire so that we collect the most important information about you and the trip. Taken the information you provide into account we create a proposal which includes accommodation, activities and local experiences. Once you give the OK we secure all the bookings and send you a PDF document with all the reservation details. Then we proceed to create the content of your bookpack. Once it’s completed we send it to your mailbox.
Does My Bookpack help me decide where to go in Portugal?
Yes, we also suggest the best itinerary based on your input and the duration of your trip. Even if you have no idea where to go we can help you figure that out before proceeding with an accommodation and activities proposal.
When I order a Bookpack do I need to have clear dates for my trip?
Yes, this is important for us to make a proposal that makes sense. As we work with small sized partners their availability and prices will vary depending on the dates.
Does My Bookpack handle all the reservations in the proposal?
Yes. In fact it's mandatory that all the reservations of accommodations and activities proposed are handled by My Bookpack.
Does My Bookpack also deal with car rental reservations, transfers and ferries?
Yes, we do take care of these reservations.
Does My Bookpack book flights?
No, we do not have any partnership with airline companies. However, we are happy to advise and help you select the best internal flights and also between the islands of Açores.
When should I request my Bookpack?
A bookpack should be requested with at least 3 months in advance, specially if the trip is during peak season.
Can I request a Weekend Break Bookpack for a 1 night stay?
No, the minimum length of stay is 2 nights.
What’s a My Bookpack Travel Card?
We’ve created this card for recurrent travellers. When you order your 5th bookpack you won’t have to pay for that bookpack's fee.
Does My Bookpack exist in other countries?
No, for the time being we only operate in Portugal. We are focusing on growing organically. Baby steps lead to success.

Basically it contains all the information we believe it’s necessary for you to explore on your own and have a great time in our country.
What's the difference between a Bookpack and a Weekend Break Bookpack?
A regular size bookpack (14cm x 19cm) is created for trips with a minimum of 4 nights. A Weekend Break Bookpack has a smaller format (10,5cm x 14,8cm) and is created for a 2 or 3 night stay in the same accommodation.
When do I receive my Bookpack?
We send it one month before the trip. This way we ensure the content is up to date and that you have enough time to read it back to back before packing.

How much does a trip with My Bookpack cost?
The only extra cost for you is our service fee. The other costs are related to the accommodation and activities/experiences selected and other services required. These are never more expensive than what you would pay directly.
How much is the My Bookpack fee?
Our service fee varies according to the duration of the trip. A Bookpack costs 125€ for a 4-7 night trip, 150€ for a 7-14 night trip and on request for longer trips. A Weekend Break Bookpack has a fixed price of 65€.
What is included in My Bookpack's fee?
The fee we charge includes all the planning, the booking service and your personalised bookpack. It also includes the bookpack shipping cost provided it is the standard rate.
What's not included in My Bookpack's fee?
The fee we charge doesn't include the cost of the accommodations and activities/experiences selected and the cost of transportation required. It also doesn't included the shipping cost in case of express delivery.
When do I have to pay?
The fee should be paid when the reservations are confirmed and is non-refundable. We usually ask for an early deposit depending on the length of stay and partners involved. The remaining amount must be paid when we ship the bookpack, about one month before the trip.
How can I pay?
Payments should be done preferably via bank transfer. If you rather use a low commission service or pay with credit card we recommend using Transferwise, which our clients and partners have been using frequently with no issues. Transferwise is a UK based platform operating all over the world that allows you to transfer money with low commissions when compared to banks.
How much does a trip with My Bookpack cost?

We follow our partner’s cancellation policies which are clear in the reservation details we share with you. In case of cancellation after a deposit has been paid, we charge a 20€ processing fee which is retained by My Bookpack (fixed penalty independently of the amount to be refunded). My Bookpack's fee is non refundable in case of cancellation.
Can I make changes to my reservation?
Yes, provided you respect the accommodation and other partners policies and there’s still availability. In case it's necessary to update the bookpack's content we might ask for an extra fee.
Can I add other experiences and activities?
Yes, provided there’s still availability. We work mainly with small sized accommodations and local partners so changes and reservations are always dependent on availability.

How do I order a My Bookpack Voucher?
You just have to get in touch and we'll send it to your address.
How does the voucher look like?
Our vouchers are a printed My Bookpack postcard. We also send along some basic information about My Bookpack and the instructions to redeem the voucher.
How much does a voucher cost?
The minimum price to pay is equivalent to the My Bookpack service fee: a Weekend Break Bookpack for a 2-3 night stay in the same accommodation costs 65€, a Bookpack for a 4-7 night stay costs 125€ and a Bookpack for a 8-14 night stay costs 150€. For >14 nights stays the amount to pay is on request.
What does the voucher include?
This standard fee means you're ensuring a personalised proposal (destination, accommodation, activities and local experiences), the booking process, a personalised trip plan and the bookpack (with VAT). It's also possible to offer for part of even the whole trip, meaning we can retain the extra money and deduct it from the bookings when the voucher is redeemed.
Is it possible to pay for the whole trip when offering a voucher?
Yes, it's possible to pay for part or the whole trip alongside the voucher. The amount will be an estimation of the cost for the whole trip, assuming the booking will be done only when the voucher is redeemed. When we advance to the booking process we can make all the necessary adjustments and, in case the trip is less expensive than what was previously estimated, we keep the surplus amount as credit for a new trip.
How do I redeem the voucher?
To start the process you just have to fill in the questionnaire and mention you received a voucher and who offered it. Then the following steps are part of a regular process when you order a Bookpack.
Is there a time frame to use a voucher?
Yes, the voucher should be redeemed up to 12 months after you received it. This means the booking process should take place within a year, even if the trip doesn't fall inside this time frame.
How do I order a My Bookpack Voucher?
You just have to get in touch and we'll send it to your address.
How does the voucher look like?
